Welcome New Ensemble Members!

After a rigorous audition process in which we met many amazing artists and made loads of new friends, Rawcus is delighted to announce that we have invited 4 new performers into the ensemble. The new ensemble has been rehearsing together since August, and the energy has been electric!

A big welcome to Heath O’Loughlin, Isha Menon, Jorlene Lim, and Swann Biguet.

Heath O’Loughlin
Heath has always loved to play, sing, and move to music. Since 2018, his performing arts passion has been nurtured as a YourDNA Creative Arts student where he has gained skills in character creation, physical storytelling, collaborative artmaking, and performance. In 2022, Heath joined FUZEnsemble and performed in their 2022 and 2023 Fringe Festival productions. Heath loves to express his ideas in physical form, work with others to create a world of play, and engage an audience. He is thrilled with the prospect of continuing to develop his skills and confidence as a Rawcus Ensemble member in the years to come.

Isha Menon
Isha is a performer originally from Canberra and of Indian and Dutch heritage, who graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2021 with a Bachelor in Theatre. In 2019, they wrote, directed and performed in a two-hander girl walks home from a train as part of the inaugural student-lead arts festival Discord held at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). In 2021 they performed Very Nice Pot Plants (dir. Karla Livingston and Zachary Sheridan) at Theatreworks Glasshouse venue and in 2022, they were part of Red Stitch’s production of Fast Food and By Jane’s Hand at LaMama.

Jorlene Lim
I’m Jorlene or Jojo. I’m an Asian Deaf/hard of hearing. I can speak 3 languages and solve the Rubik’s cube. How cool I am. I’d also like to say I’m an interesting human being who often thinks about existential issues. But my biggest problems are what to eat next and the perfect colour for my design. In a nutshell, I love design, printmaking, and illustration. Now I’m also into performing! I’m open to everything! I’m Taurus meaning “throw themselves into everything artistic”.

Swann Biguet
Swann Biguet (they/them) is a physical performer originally from Paris and based in Naarm/Melbourne. They became interested in the performing arts after being blown away at a street theatre festival in France in 1998 and consequently studied circus for 3 years, focusing on object manipulation, contemporary dance and physical theatre. After almost a decade training and performing in Europe, they came to Australia in 2008. They have since performed and taught with various companies and organisations, including the Women’s Circus, Compagnie Articulate, Travel Art Dance Company, The Contingent, Circa Nica. Their current interests/areas of development include Butoh, puppetry and movement improvisation. They recently collaborated with Weave Movement Theatre as a stage manager and are part of the Women’s Circus inclusive ensemble, which performed their debut show Momentum as part of Alter State Festival in September 2022 and will perform it again at the Bowery Theatre in November 2023.
