Madeleine Hale is a lawyer, educator and composer. After graduating with Honours from her Arts/Law degree at Monash University, Madeleine went on to practice intellectual property and corporate law at one of Australia’s leading law firms, Herbert Smith Freehills. Madeleine has since been teaching property, torts and contract law as a Teaching Associate at Monash University. Outside of her legal career, Madeleine is also an emerging composerand writer. Her music has been performed at the Melbourne Recital Centre, the Hayes Theatre and at Chapel Off Chapel. Before turning to composition, Madeleine was originally trained as a cellist and soprano, performing and touring internationally as lead cellist with the Chamber Strings of Melbourne. Madeleine is passionate about supporting new voices and diverse dialogue in the performing arts through innovative ensembles like Rawcus.
