Here We Are Amongst You

We are delighted to announce we will presenting our new work Here We Are Amongst You at Arts House in June.

Here We Are Amongst You is a joyous celebration of connection. A secular prayer for our times. It is a raw and exuberant gathering hosted by the ensemble.  It’s an invitation to celebrate community, belonging and being together.

Here We Are Amongst You is being performed in the round, as performers move in all directions to create encounters that are different from every perspective. No two audience members will share the same experience, but everyone will be part of the warmth and welcome that underscores the work.  Experience this rich and restorative world, as fleeting as it is resonant.

Devised and Performed by the Rawcus Ensemble: Clem Baade, Michael Buxton, Harriet Devlin- Dunbar, Rachel Edward, Nilgun Guven, Joshua Lynzaat, Paul Matley, Mike Mc Evoy, Ryan New, Kerryn Poke, Louise Riisik, Prue Stevenson, Danielle von der Borsch

Image description: 12 diverse performers are captured in various stages of exuberant dancing. They are all wearing different coloured and textured clothing against a black background. There is a feeling of laughter and connection. In the foreground there are four performers; one is looking sideways as if to catch attention from someone next to him; the second performer has her arm above her head, her eyes closed and laughter on her face, the third performer is in mid leap with her hair spreading out and a smile on her face, the fourth performer is focused and still, with eyes cast downwards.  Behind them are other bodies dancing that are obscured by the four foregrounded performers.
