Every Step

a short performance presented by Rawcus at the Victorian Pride Centre

Every Step is a new physical performance set within the bold geometry of the Victorian Pride Centre’s grand staircase. This is a performance about how identity is choreographed: A colour we gravitate toward. A song we return to. A favourite t-shirt worn thin. These everyday choices, intimate and untamed, shape how we move through the world and how the world reads us in return. Every Step is a parade of textures, gestures, and preferences. A celebration of movement and perception. A joyful assertion of access and pride. This new work is choreographed and performed by Rawcus Ensemble Artist Ryan New, in collaboration with Swann Biguet and Nilgun Guven. Every Step invites audiences to witness identity in motion and to revel in the simple stubborn things that make us who we are.
